SOME GREAT PRESS FOR WLUW!

We're #1!  WLUW was voted the best radio station in Chicago in New City Chicago's readers' poll.  How cool is that?  Thank you to all the listeners who voted for us to make us #1.  You can check out all the results at www.newcitychicago.com.

This quote comes from an article that appeared in the suburban newspaper The Daily Herald. The piece was by Ted Cox, their TV/Radio columnist. It is called "Between the Buttons: How to Program Your Radio Dial for your Own Personal Tastes."

In his "indies" category, he writes:

"WLUW 88.7-FM: The Loyola University station has become the city's best outlet for alternative rock. If you're looking for the Magnetic Fields or Pavement or, now that Pavement is broken up, Stephen Malkmus, you're most likely to hear it here."

The Steve Damien Retrospective Section

As you may or may not know, Steve Damien just ended his run on the Monday evening show on WLUW.  Steve did a highly acclaimed segment called the Retrospective.  There have been many requests for copies of these retrospectives.  Being a good guy, who loves the listeners, Steve wants to keep making these available.  All Steve is asking in return is $3.00 per tape to cover tape costs and shipping, which I don't think is too much to ask.  All you have to do is e-mail Steve and request one.  Plus, to make it easier, Steve gave us a list of all the Retrospectives he's done.

You can e-mail Steve here: SteveDamien@aol.com
